Writing Down The Best Man Wedding Speech

Why should you write best man wedding speech when you can just buy it online? There are a couple of good reasons.

For one, pre-prepared speeches, no matter how excellently made, can never be tailored to your character. Although these discuss topics relevant to wedding, they still lack elements that only you can fill. Among these is the spirit of the speech. They were made to be generic and sound as such, and although they present a very good option, they’re not exactly the ones you’d want your family hear. Another good reason is the appeal that makes these speeches sound too structured. Although these speeches match the themes of the occasion, they are not entirely a perfect choice for your audience. You may not be able to connect to your audience with this type of speech, making your speech a bit unforgettable or simply boring. For a final speech, your speech as the best man should be able to heighten the wedding party’s spirits in preparation for the celebrations that follow.

You’re best option is to produce a speech that you wrote yourself. But how can you do that?

Don’t think about the wedding first. Doing this will help you feel less worried about the occasion, thus help you focus on preparing your speech. So don’t stress out even if you’re already running behind schedule.

Next, make a list of things that you want to incorporate in your speech. Depending on how you want your speech to sound like, it can talk about anything from a funny story about the groom when he was just a kid (if you were childhood friends) to things that you think would happen in the future (job promotions or perhaps kids).

Some of the most important things that should be in your speech are dates (how long have the bride and groom have been together), significant events which happened between the couple, details about the groom, and a short background on the bride. You can also include a funny story about the groom which really happened. Talking about the groom’s previous relationships is perfectly fine so long as the ones you pick are funny and light. You may also talk about some secrets about how the groom is like as a person, a friend, a co-worker, or a brother. Maybe you could toss in a few side notes about how the groom would be like as a husband.

Once you’ve got all the things you need, start putting the speech to paper. Your opening line should be the first to come up, maybe you can use a thank you or a return of the toast to the speaker who spoke before you. Then express your gratitude to the guests for coming. Offer a toast for the parents of the bride and the groom then thank them in behalf of the newlyweds. Proceed to the succeeding sections of your speech. From time to time, crack a joke or say a one liner that can give the audience a good laugh. Offer them a final toast along with a short ‘wish you all the best’ wish and that’s it.

After reading your own best man wedding speech, give it to a friend and watch him read it. If you are satisfied with his reactions, you’re finished. If not, it’s up to you to go back to the drawing board and polish your work.
