Persuasive speech topics

Persuasive speech topics

Persuasive speech topics have all been selected based on several criteria. Those criteria are: who is your audience? And what action are you persuading them to take?

A great way to start is to establish what your goals are for your presentation. Do you want to make a sale? Do you want to get someone to come on a date with you? Do you have business goals? Or is it about getting that job interview and getting hired? Or even, getting that big promotion…?

Remember, almost all conversations between people involves promoting yourself. You are persuading others that YOU are the person of choice.

Persuasive speech topics are all about persuading someone else to do something  which you desire them to take. The thing is, that they may not necessarily have the same objectives that you do. No matter what your objectives are, you can come up with a concise catelogue of all the benefits that you will deliver as a result of the other person following your lead. Just as crucial, is to list out every possible reason they could come up with for saying no. These are known as objections, and having your answers ready for when the objections are raised puts you in a strong position.

Once you have identified the possible objections and your answers to them as part of your persuasion tactics will get your prospects on your side. Even more powerful still is to tell them that you once had those worries as well. Until of course, you found the solution to those challenges. The way that you are about to tell your prospects all about.

Enthusiasm is another tool that you are well advised to use. Being enthusiastic is a powerful selling tool as I’m certain you can remember some great presentations

Persuasion is part art and part science.

Research shows that you will be more persuasive if you are seen as an expert in your field!
A strategy I have seen other people use is to spend a few days in the library and devouring everything you can on your subject. the majority of the people in the USA haven’t read a book since they left school. Knowing more than them won’t be difficult. And after all what is an expert ? A person who is aware of more facts than everyone else.

Make sure that you are that person… THE expert. Your audience will listen to more of what you say and will be able to recall more of it . If you want to know more about this I recommend the book “Influence ” by Irving Gottman.
He describes all of the things that will make you stand out in front of the room. Read it, use it and be amazed at how much more receptive your listeners will be.

Mastering persuasive speaking is one of the greatest skills any person being can aquire. It takes practice and, while a lucky few are born with the Blarney Stone tightly gripped in their jaw, most of us learn through being trained in one of the many public speaking courses that are available. Andrew Rondeau has teamed up with Darren Lacroix to create an excellent course that takes you through creating a world-beating presentation including choosing the most persuasive speech topics and HOW to deliver them like a pro.
