Looking for Joy Within

The quest for ultimate self contentment has always been one of those unforgiving questions that has laid way for countless numbers of self-help books for decades. Many people have found that there is no one solution, and that the paths to inner happiness are as varied as the billions of people in the world.

Beginning from this point, the recognition that there is no one “right answer,” you can find your own sources of happiness with honest introspection and a genuine commitment to respecting your own ideals. A familiar notion that there is a “simplified step” in finding a solution to personal bliss can be further from the truth.

In all honesty there is no mysterious way to search for self tranquility that only a few selected people know about. Everyone has their own personal level and belief system that directs them to their own path to successful harmony. A person who sincerely seeks happiness will inevitably ask themselves certain questions:

“What do I value in life? But how can I follow my goals when I am pressured by the way a materialistic society dictates what I “Should” be?

At this point in time am I doing enough to recognize and follow through with my own values?” Blaming the harshness of the outside world is an easy trap to fall into for those who are dissatisfied with their current situation in life.

Anyone making the excuse “Working is important to me because the material assets I have are important to my self worth,” usually means, “I am a slave to what society is telling me I should be and have as person, and that it is difficult to be true to myself because of it.”

Finding happiness within requires acceptance of one’s responsibility for their life; while events and tragedies beyond our power often occur, we choose how we react to them. If we can take accountability for our own actions to become a better and happier person, you will see that you life will hit a degree where you will feel free and that you will know you will have that power to turn your life around in all situations. The path to inner happiness is not an easy road to follow; it might be a little scary at first, but persistence is your only virtue to help you block out the pressures of a popular and materialistic society, to carry you along your path to ultimate happiness.
